Drakling and Drake
An emergent dragon, immature and yet brimming with potential.

The Drakling offers an alternative angle to the core design of the Elytrian. It has natural elytra wings and an inability to wear armour stronger than chainmail. However it differs in the fact that the Drakling has a stamina bar for flight, becoming unable to maintain fall-flying (elytra flight) when this stamina is exhausted. The Drakling also has the ability to craft chainmail armour, preventing cases where a player spends large amounts of time in only leather.
Armour and flight restrictions are disproportionately harmful to Elytrian-like origins in the late game or post-Enderdragon - especially in more heavily modded environments that add armour stronger than Netherite. The goal of the Drakling in the late game is to kill the Enderdragon, find an End Ship, and wear a dragon head; doing so will evolve the Drakling into a Drake.
Drakes have unlimited flight, a "boost" ability to propel themselves forwards whilst flying, and unrestricted armour. In exchange, however, the Drake suffers a 25% armour penalty.
