Hurricane Zones

Matt Schell edited this page Jun 2, 2021 · 2 revisions

New York City Emergency Management releases Hurricane Evacuation Zones (aka "Hurricane Zones", aka "HEZ") annually, usually in late spring. Hurricane Evacuation Zones are built from collections of Atomic-Polygons

Zone 0 is the water and then zones 1 through 7 are on land. Zone X is not a zone, it is a placeholder for territory without a zone.

It is hard to predict which source below will deliver the most current hurricane zones. In the offseason, hurricane-wise, all will likely be synchronized. As the hurricane season begins the zones will likely be delivered from NYC Emergency Management and flow out to the other end points.
