NYC Open Data

The Department of City Planning and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications maintain address points in the NYC Street Centerline (CSCL) database. They extract and upload this dataset to the Open Data site monthly.

Each borough has jurisdiction over the assignment and creation of addresses. See for example Brooklyn (http://www.brooklyn-usa.org/topography/) and Manhattan (http://manhattanbp.nyc.gov/downloads/pdf/address-assignments-v-web.pdf)

Open Addresses

The worldwide Open Addresses project pulls addresses for New York City from the Open Data site. See https://github.com/openaddresses/openaddresses/blob/master/sources/us/ny/city_of_new_york.json
