Compilation Process

XMLs

The XMLs should be distributed straight off the repository, in ZIP files. The user would just unzip them into the dump in the right place.

XDelta

XDelta is an open source program for generating binary patches, which will be needed for the .assets file. Because the XDelta only records our changes to the files, it is free to distribute such patches.

The user will have to provide their original .assets files, which are copyrighted material. This adds an extra step to compilation for the user, so we will have to document this, but XDelta is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Multilingual

We should have multilingual releases, as KC3 supports many languages that we can autogenerate. There will be a few things that have discrepancies between KC3 and KC Vita, so some future translator will have to remedy those on their own.

In addition, we need some way to translate the assets, which are images. PSD templates seem to work, but they need to be inserted with some sort of command line system.

How To Translate

You will need commit access to our repository to contribute directly. But if you don't, you can fork our repository, then submit a pull request.

Match with KC3

Matching with KC3 is done to make use of their existing multilanguage translations. Some differences have to be mitigated.
