Element to Pause or Stop Audio or to Control Volume

Question Topic 2: Shouldn't the mechanism to "pause or stop the audio or to control the volume of the content" be an "interactive" element? I don't think an image, for example, would quality as an acceptable mechanism.

Answer Mechanism is specifically defined to include any element, including text or images. For example, text could be an effective element to provide a keyboard shortcut, which could function to pause or stop the audio or control the volume of the audio content.
