2. Direct Messages

Direct Messages are chats that you have with another person in Tact. There’s just the two of you, and no one else.

You can start a Direct Message chat in the following ways.

Share your link

Everyone on Tact has a link that they can share in any channel, to invite other people to have a Direct Message chat with them.

To share your link, choose New Chat in the bottom left of Tact, and then New Direct Message. You will then see your personal Tact link, which looks like this: https://go.justtact.com/1on1/long-private-code.

You can post this link to any channel that you feel is appropriate. You can send it directly to someone with e-mail or another app, or even publish it to your blog or web site. Be mindful, though, where you publish it — anyone who has access to the link can request to chat with you.

Connect Nearby

Tact’s Nearby feature lets you connect to other Tact users that are physically close to you, without having to share any codes, links or private details.

To connect to another Tact user close to you, choose New Chat and then Connect Nearby. Tact looks for other users who have done the same. If both of you have Nearby open in Tact, you will appear for one another. You can then tap the other user’s picture to request to chat with them.
