FINDINGS

(Ryan - 9/29) WordPress in an open-source blogging software built on a PHP/MySQL stack, featuring a massive user-supported community and a highly modular plugin system that gives a lot of flexibility in the types of sites you can build. Using a "theming" system, one can easily customize the appearance of WordPress and its administrative backend.

The major benefits of WordPress lie in its flexibility and the sheer amount of developers who are familiar with it, which has allowed for a massive community-driven plugin and theme respository - You can pretty much add any kind of functionality you need to WordPress by just searching for a plugin and installing it with a click.

I am currently investigating plugins that would give us access to the features and functions we may require as a group and the feasibility of implementing these for our work moving forward.
