This section is for findings regarding the OpenSTV software assessment.

FINDINGS

(Ryan - 9/29) OpenSTV has what they call a "restrictive" license and is behind something of a paywall. In addition it requires a commercial license if your instance of their software is to "provide election services to others" which seems like kind of a red flag. We are currently exploring getting a trial license to further investigate the software's functionality and features.
