General troubleshooting
For some strange reason mailbox.org accounts only work, if the server url is changed to dav.mailbox.org (the one received via autodiscover does not work). There is an entry in the user forum about this issue.
Horde ignores the 2nd and 3rd email. At least the Groupware 5.2.22 edition. Also, per default the SQL backend uses too small fields for telephone numbers and titles, which results in lost data. Horde does not report this, but sends a clean ACK. I suggest to use 300 chars for all fields.
Outlook.com does not sync contact categories. There is nothing I can do about that.
People working on several machines tend to clone their profile. This results in having the same ActiveSync Device ID which causes errors during synchronization. Check your ActiveSync Device ID on all your Thunderbird installations to see if that might be the reason for your synchronization issues.
The Device ID is used to minimize network traffic and to submit only the changes since the last synchronization (the server always knows the state of your local calendar and address book). This will of course not work if two different systems use the same Device ID.
If you already have a cloned profile, do the following to resolve the situation:
- open the account administration tab of TbSync
- delete your Exchange ActiveSync account
- create it again
- verify that your ID is different
