Forbidden Tasks item in Calendar folder

This is not an error, it is an instruction :-)

The issue is as follows: EAS has separate "containers" for contacts, tasks and events. EAS calls these containers "folders". It is not possible to have mixed folders, which means you cannot add a task to an EAS calendar folder (and the other way around).

Thunderbird however does not have this limitation when it comes to tasks and events, Thunderbird Lightning has only one type of container, a "calendar", which can store both. Such a mixed calendar cannot be synced. Before I added this check, the "wrong" items were either ignored or converted - which is both bad.

The error message tells you, that there are tasks in a lightning calender, which you want to sync to an EAS calendar folder. You have to move these tasks to another lightning calendar, which you sync to an EAS task folder.

Invalid item!

Servers may throw this error for multiple reasons:

  1. You are trying to add an event to a shared calendar of a Microsoft Server (Office 365, outlook.com, ...) and the owner has not granted you "private" rights: You can only add events to that calendar which have a public privacy setting.

  2. Your server has quarantined TbSync and does not allow it to access your data. In Office 365 you can verify that in the mobile device details. You need to contact your IT to resolve this issue.

  3. Some server throw this error, if the card/event you are trying to add is identical or similar to an already existing item.
