It doesn't make sense to backport this, since that's only used for builtin syntax - if you want to parse new syntax on an old julia version, just use the version that's in the Julia repo as a package.

I don't follow. How can I use the version of JuliaSyntax that's baked into in Julia master as a package on 1.11?

From discussing on slack:

On the Julia coverage CI jobs dev the JuliaSyntax version from the julia repo, given it's pre-release syntax. Once 1.14 is out the package version of JuliaSyntax will need a 2.0 update and release. Julia CI can use the julia repo version to keep syntax in sync.
