## Summary - clean up translation/selection pipelines, status messaging, and follow-up helpers to eliminate pylint/mypy errors without suppressions - extract merge helpers and follow-up utilities, adjust tests, and tighten type signatures across services - replace asserts with explicit guards, add exception handling, and update tests/fixtures accordingly ## Testing - scripts/check_repo.sh
