Description: Explain what the package does and why it's useful.
The package allows linguists working in phonology to quickly generate (a) phonetic transcriptions, (b) vowel and consonant inventories, and (c) prosodic representations based on syllables, feet, and prosodic words. Although there are two packages dedicated to (a), the present package offers a much simpler interface by allowing the user to enter tipa-based strings that are converted into phonetic symbols. As a result, users coming from LaTeX will feel at home. It is also more streamlined than tyipa (another Typst package). Finally, (b) and (c) are completely new capabilities. First, (b) allows the user to automatically generate vowel trapezoids given a custom string of vowels or a pre-determined language inventory included in the package. Consonant tables are also included in (b), and work the same way. The most useful capability of the package, however, is (c): the possibility to create prosodic trees from a simple string. All of these functions are useful not only for research in linguistics, but for teaching in general, as most phonologists use tikz in LaTeX to work with prosody, a task that is convoluted and unsurprisingly very time-consuming.
