Outstanding Problems with external libraries

External libraries should be fairly well supported, but not without a few limitations. This issue will document those limitations and I likely wont be trying to fix them since some of it is out of my control.

• If you are targeting a version of netstandard before 2.1, it will not work
  • Why: because of malformed xml documentation (netstandard.xml is malformed dotnet/standard#666)
  • Workaround: Upgrade to 2.1 or later
• If the external library doesn't have xml documentation, it wont work (no workaround)
• The xml from the external library may be formatted weird (no real workaround either)
• Xml documentation doesn't appear to be super well supported in the analysis context... maybe? (Unable to fetch XML Documentation from symbol a member of a custom Assembly that has a XML documentation file. dotnet/roslyn#23673). Though it does appear to work, so maybe this isn't an issue
• Sometimes the Roslyn Analyzer just seems to be a little behind.
  • Workaround: try ctrl+dot again

This issue is also a bit of a consolidation of the (probably mostly fixed) issues #1 , #4 , and #9 .
