My apologies, I didn't notice that GitHub automatically added these commits into the first PR after I sent my initial PR. I will use separate branches in the future to avoid this. While I have tested them and thus far it worked in my case, I haven't fully tested all scenarios. I will send a new PR for those changes once I'm 100% confident in them. There are some valuable changes in here, but it's safer not to pick through changes.
This reverts commit [c487131], [4a50dda], [0c251fd], and [d36dfdf].
