Prerequisites:
- An extracted romfs of Metroid Dread. Using Ryujinx, you can right-click the game in the list and go Extract Data -> RomFS.
How to use:
- Download dread_editor_Windows.7z.
- Extract
dread_editor_Windows.7z
. If you're unable to extract, install 7-Zip. - Open the
dread_editor.exe
in the extracted directory. It'll be hidden in the middle of many other files. - On the top-left of the screen, click
File -> Select extracted Metroid Dread root
. - After that, you can click
Select level file
and then select the appropriate level. - Make the modifications you want
- To save, do
File -> Save changes
.
How to play:
- In Ryujinx, right click Metroid Dread on the list and select "Open Mods Directory". On the folder that opens, create the folder Editor and then inside a "romfs".
- Copy over the
packs
folder from where you extracted Metroid Dread's romfs and paste inside theromfs
you created in the previous step.
Warnings:
Many changes will crash the game if additional changes aren't made. For example, changing an actor's oActorDefLink
to an asset not present in the same pkg crashes the game.
