Wisteria is a Nerves-powered e-ink name badge developed for the Goatmire Conference. This repository contains the hardware design files, schematics, and PCB layouts for the Wisteria board.
The companion software that runs on the badge can be found here
- 4.2" e-ink display
- Allwinner T113-S4 processor
- Approximately 8 hour battery life
- USB-C charging
If you already have a Wisteria board from Goatmire 2025, go to the software repository for instructions on building firmware, flashing the chip and customizing your device.
If you do not have a board, visit the releases section of this repository to download the hardware files. Although the files are exported in the required template format for JLCPCB assembly, they can be manufactured and assembled through the PCB fabrication service of your choice. Note that some parts, including the e-ink display, batteries, and Wi-Fi module, are custom-ordered components and may be difficult to obtain in small quantities.
To modify the hardware, clone this repository and open the project in KiCad 9 or later.
Mechanical files are provided in the mechanical/ directory. These include STEP
models for designing and printing custom cases.
USB-C power and data is not supported when connecting a USB Power Delivery (PD) adapter or power source while the board is powered on. To mitigate this, restart the name badge by moving the power switch "OFF" then "ON" after plugging in a USB-C cable. The reason for this is currently unknown.
