Building the source

Building geth requires both a Go (version 1.14 or later) and a C compiler. You can install them using your favourite package manager. Once the dependencies are installed, run

make geth

or, to build the full suite of utilities:

make all

How to deploy node and export RPC interface

• Create non privileged user

useradd -m octa

• Create directories to store blockchain and node software

mkdir /home/octa/data/geth
mkdir /home/octa/opt/geth

• Download node software

curl https://github.com/octaspace/go-octa/releases/download/v2.0.0/geth-linux-amd64 -o /home/octa/opt/geth/geth-linux-amd64
chmod +x home/octa/opt/geth/geth-linux-amd64
chown -R octa.octa /home/octa

• Create systemd unit file

cat > /etc/systemd/system/octa-node.service << EOF

• Enable and start service

systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl enable octa-node
systemctl start octa-node

• Check status and logs

systemctl status octa-node

journalctl -u octa-node
