What data is recorded?

Every time a toilet door changes state (from open to closed, or vice versa) this event is recorded in the database. The data recorded is:

  • the ID of the toilet cubicle
  • the new state of the door (i.e. whether it’s now open or closed)
  • the date and time

What data is not recorded?

  • your identity
  • what goes on in the cubicle

How anonymous is this?

Unless you visit toilet cubicles in a very methodical way (e.g. same time of day; same duration) and this behaviour becomes known to other people, it’d be very difficult to identify individual users from the data that’s collected.

Can I contribute to the software

Yes. It’s on Github.
