Q: Can animals/robots/subverted mechs/aliens/whatever use Deep Storage?
A: Yes and No.
ANYONE may haul FROM Deep Storage.
Only entities with HUMAN-LIKE INTELLIGENCE can haul TO Deep Storage.
However, there is a Mod Setting that allows you to change this:

Humanlike intelligence: humans and any aliens who are mostly human-ish

Tool Users: Mechanoids understand tools? Some ROBOTS are tool users.

Animals: Woof. Meow. Rawr. Etc. Also, some ROBOTS are actually animals that don’t eat.
Q: If I have raw food in a Food Basket, do I need to put it in a refrigerator?
A: Yes. The Food Baskets are just mini-granaries, they don’t perform magic, they don’t take power. You probably want to put them in a freezer.

Q: Why does it take pawns soooo long to add items to certain bins? For example, adding a few bits of fabric to an indoor pallet takes an extreme amount of time compared to tossing a stack of steel into a skip.
A: Have you ever watched construction people in New York City fill a dumpster as they destroy a building? They will happily toss stuff in from two stories up. Compare that to a pallet stacked with various bolts of fabric, where you have to sort out what’s there, pull out the correct one, add the new cloth onto it, make sure it still fits where it was, etc.
