A Django app to serve up GeoJSON vector tiles of 2010 U.S. Census Blocks with P.L. 94 redistricting data. To load the data, grab a copy of it from here: http://wsjcmm.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/ You'll have to reassemble the chunks. The zipped file will be ~7.5gb, and the unzipped file ~20gb. Make sure you have enough room. To import, run these commands to set up the tables and then import the data. The import will take a while. ./manage.py syncdb ./manage.py load_all_data /path/to/redistrictingdata folder Original data sources are ftp://ftp2.census.gov/geo/tiger/TIGER2010/TABBLOCK/2010/ and ftp://ftp2.census.gov/geo/tiger/TIGER2010/TRACT/2010/ and ftp://ftp2.census.gov/geo/tiger/TIGER2010/COUNTY/2010/tl_2010_us_county10.zip and http://fairplan2020.fyels.com/ Folder structure of redistrictingdata/ should be like this before running the import redistrictingdata/ fairplan2020data/ ak_PL94_block2010.txt al_PL94_block2010.txt ... etc ... state_tabblock_shapefiles/ tl_2010_01_tabblock10/ tl_2010_02_tabblock10/ ... etc ... state_tract_shapefiles/ tl_2010_01_tract10/ tl_2010_02_tract10/ ... etc ... us_county_shapefiles/ tl_2010_us_county10.shp ... rest of shapefile stuff ...
