+When they combined Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, face search engines, LLMs, and public databases and started walking around Harvard Square AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio started to raise awareness about the current capabilities of everyday surveillance. Their viral project, I-XRAY, are AI glasses that reveal anyone’s personal details—home address, name, phone number, and more—just from looking at them.

+I-XRAY was built here at Harvard and tested out around campus. Instead of releasing the technology itself, they’ve documented how everyday people can remove themselves from the databases that made it possible. On January 29th they will sit down with Professor Jonathan Zittrain to discuss the project and how it unfolded.

+Professor Jonathan Zittrain is the George Bemis Professor of International Law at Harvard Law School. He is also a Professor of Public Policy, Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government, a professor of computer science at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, director of the Harvard Law School Library, and co-founder and director of Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society.
