@balhoff and @dosumis - so far I've only gotten one of these to actually produce results:

$ wc validated_patterns/*tsv
       8      69    1196 validated_patterns/activator_activity.tsv
       1       4      52 validated_patterns/envenomation.tsv
       1       4      82 validated_patterns/inhibitor_activity.tsv
       1       6     136 validated_patterns/membrane_region.tsv

Probably at least partly due to outstanding feature requests for dosdp-tools:

• RegEx support
• Making vars field optional in printf fields (used for fixed values like namespace).
• Support for new TSV spec.

Looking in to details now.
