FuncDiv is an R package for computing contributional diversity of joint taxa-function data (e.g., assembled genomes, that are annotated with genes, and that have profiled abundances across samples). This program is intended to be straight-forward to run and computationally efficient.

Contributional diversity refers to the diversity of the subset of taxa that encode a specific function. So rather than a single alpha diversity value per sample, there is one contributional alpha diversity value for each sample and function combination (that has at least one contributor in that sample). The same is true for beta diversity.
