Introduction to Modern Algebra (UMN Spring 2019 Math 4281 notes), 31th of May 2019 (2019-05-31)

This will eventually be a detailed and thorough introduction to rings, fields and polynomials, corresponding roughly to a 1-semester course on abstract algebra (including some elementary number theory). At the moment, only the elementary number theory sections are finished; the rest is mostly readable (with some exceptions) but still rough at times. The main file is notes.pdf, containing the lecture notes; the remaining PDF files are homework sets and their solutions. Numerous exercises (mostly on elementary number theory) are included.

This is a frozen version, created on the 31st of May 2019, archived here so that it can be referenced. The version on http://www.cip.ifi.lmu.de/~grinberg/t/19s/ (and in the actual repository) will probably see some updates (and the numbering will change).
