This is actually REALLY GOOGLE-LIKE. Google Network Planner was a computation intensive tool that was given out for free. Nobody could compete with it since the amount of cloud resources needed implied any alternative will need to charge a lot of money to match the GNP so the wireless networks industry was left completely unprepared when the announcement landed, and no viable alternative was present. There are some ongoing developments but so far nobody is offering the service anywhere close to GNP and the alternatives cost thousands of dollars. |

Not 100% sure on the launch date, but this service is obscure enough that there was barely any coverage.
