I don't know if it's the right approach but that the only way I've found for the last test to pass.
Otherwise it would clear all
elements, even from the caller's parent.

Added a
clearcommand with tests and docs.Since this is my first contribution to the codebase, I'm sure I've missed some things or done something not the way you'd do it.
I'd appreciate any feedback if that's the case and will fix.
I didn't know if I had to it manually but I rebuilt and added the test to the release candidate and all that.
