Our aim is to get this to a feature completion minus the tuneups on the REST API and the user interface side.

Initially aimed to be the alpha-3 release, we moved this to be the alpha finalisation step.

Due to complications around publishing on pypi we had to publish several versions of the package before we concluded it was worthy to move to the beta.
