Simple Omlette Recipe

An easy and quick dish, perfect for any meal. This classic omlette combines beaten egs cooked to perfection, optionally filled with your choise of cheese, vegetables, or meat.

Preparation time

  • Total Approximately 10 minutes
  • Preparation: 5 minutes
  • Cooking: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2-3 large eggs
  • Salt, to tast
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of butter or oil
  • Optional fillings: cheese, diced vegetables, cooked meats, herbs

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs: In a bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper until they are well mixed. You can add a tablespoon of water or milk for a dluffier texture.
  2. Heat the pan: Place a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add butter or oil.
  3. Cook the omlette: Once the butter is melted and bubbling, uor in the eggs. Tilt the pan to ensure the eggs evenly coat the surface.
  4. Add fillings (optional): When the eggs begin to set at the edges but are still slightly runny in the middle, sprinkle your chosen fillings over one half of the omlette.
  5. Fold and serve: As the omlette continues to cook, carefully lift one egg and fold it over the fillings. Let it cook for another minute, then slide it onto a plate.
  6. Enjoy: Serve hot, with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Spaghetti Recipe in Creamy Tomato Sauce is a delicious vegetarian recipe, with flavours from fresh tomatoes, garlic and basil, which your kids and family will absolutely love.

Preparation time

  • Cooking: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250 grams Durum Wheat
  • Spaghetti Pasta
  • 1 Carrot (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli flakes , optional
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cream
  • Salt , to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Tomato Basil Sauce For Pasta

  • 500 grams Tomatoes (get red ripe ones)
  • 6 cloves Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 4 sprig Basil leaves (roughly torn)
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper ( to taste)

Instructions

  1. Boil the spaghetti pasta in hot water and a little bit of salt, till it's just the biting consistency which is the al dente.
  2. Strain the water and rinse the cooked spaghetti pasta over cold water, to stop cooking the pasta. Drizzle the pasta with olive oil and keep aside.
  3. The next step is to make Tomato basil sauce. Into a pressure cooker, cut the tomatoes into half and place the tomatoes into a pressure cooker. Allow the tomatoes to pressure cook just for one whistle.
  4. After the first whistle release the pressure immediately and allow the tomatoes to cool. Once cooled, drain the water from the tomatoes. Remove the skin from the tomatoes and place the pulp into the mixer grinder and make a smooth puree.
  5. Once the puree is ready. keep this aside.
  6. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions. Saute the onions until the onions become tender.
  7. At this stage add the carrots and capsicum and roast the vegetables until soft and is cooked. Once cooked add in the freshly made tomato puree, the basil leaves, red chilli flakes, oregano, salt and pepper and bring the mixture to a brisk boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Stir in the cooked spaghetti pasta into the tomato basil sauce.
  9. Stir in the cream, and stir fry Spaghetti Pasta the on high heat until the spaghetti gets well coated with the sauce.

Pesto Pasta

Make our filling vegetarian pesto pasta recipe for a quick, family-friendly dish you can throw together with store cupboard ingredients. This supper couldn't be easier.

Preparation time

Total time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500g pack spaghetti, fresh or dried
  • 2-3 tbsp pesto from a jar
  • 50g Parmesan (or vegetarian alternative), shaved or grated

Instructions

  1. Boil spaghetti in a large pan according to pack instructions.
  2. Drain well
  3. Then put the pesto and half of the Parmesan in a pan.
  4. Put spaghetti into the pan and toss well.
  5. Put into a serving bowl, sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan and enjoy.

Red Sauce Pasta

This delicious Red Sauce Pasta is a classic! A homemade tomato sauce that takes under 30 minutes to make. Packed with flavor this will be your go-to red sauce recipe.

Preparation time

  • Total time: 30 minutes

  • Cooking time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large onions (peeled and chopped)
  • 2 red bell peppers (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 garlic cloves (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 800g can
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 400g pasta
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil to a large frying pan, skillet or saute pan.
  2. Add the onions, bell peppers and salt. Cook these for 10-15 minutes over medium heat until soft.
  3. Add the chopped garlic and oregano, then cook over low heat for a further 5 minutes.
  4. Tip the contents of the pan into the blender or food processor, add the canned tomatoes, sugar and black pepper, then whiz until the sauce is pureed to your liking.
  5. Return the sauce to the pan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Add the extra virgin olive oil to the sauce just before you add it to the pasta.

To cook the pasta (whilst the sauce is simmering)

  1. Bring a large pan of water to a boil, add 1 tablespoon of salt and cook the pasta as the packet suggests.
  2. Reserve a cup of the pasta cooking water and then drain the pasta.
  3. Return it to the pan and add the red pasta sauce.
  4. Stir gently over low heat to combine the pasta, add a splash of the cooking water if needed.

Potato Chips

The homemade healthy potato chip snack.

Preparation time

Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional toppings

  • 2 Tbsp finely grated Parmesan
  • 1⁄2 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1⁄4 cup chopped parsley and the grated zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Scrub the potatoes with cold water and cut crosswise into 1⁄8" thick slices.
  3. Toss with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. (To use the optional toppings: Sprinkle with Parmesan, paprika, or rosemary before baking; add the parsley mixture after baking.)
  5. Bake until lightly browned and crispy, about 20 minutes.

Crispy Oven-Baked Potato Fries

An easy snack to do at home.

Preparation

Total time 75 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 russet potatoes, peeled and cut lengthwise into wedges
  • 5 tbsp. vegetable, canola or peanut oil, divided
  • ¾ tsp. kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • ¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475˚ F. Place the potato wedges in a large mixing bowl. Cover with hot water; soak for 10-30 minutes. Put 4 tablespoons of the oil onto a heavy, rimmed baking sheet. Tilt the sheet side to side to evenly coat the pan with oil (a pastry brush can also help with this). Sprinkle the pan evenly with the salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Drain the potatoes. Spread the wedges out on layers of paper towels or on clean kitchen towels. Pat dry with additional towels. Wipe out the now empty bowl so it is dry. Return the potatoes to the bowl and toss with the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Arrange the potato wedges on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 5 minutes. Remove the foil and continue to bake until the bottoms of the potatoes are spotty golden brown, 15-20 minutes, rotating the baking sheet after 10 minutes. Using a metal spatula and tongs, flip each potato wedge keeping them in a single layer. Continue baking until the fries are golden and crisp, 5-10 minutes. Rotate the pan as needed to ensure even browning.
  3. When the fries are finished baking, transfer to a paper-towel lined plate to drain some of the grease. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
  4. Enjoy!

Potato Smiley

The perfect snack for kids and family.

Preparation:

  • Total time: 50 minuts
  • Preparation time: 30 minutes
  • Cooking time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiled potato, grated
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 2 cups boiled and grated potato.
  2. Further add ¼ cup bread crumbs, 2 tbsp corn flour, ½ tsp chilli powder and salt to taste.
  3. Combine all the ingredients well. add more bread crumbs if required.
  4. Form a soft non sticky dough.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes, this prevents smiley from breaking in oil and retain its shape.
  6. Now take a large ball sized prepared potato dough and flatten slightly thick over butter paper. butter paper avoids from dough to stick.
  7. Cut round using a cookie cutter or a glass.
  8. Also using a straw make eyes and use spoon to make a smile.
  9. Deep fry the potato smiles in hot oil. or brush with oil and bake in preheated oven at 180 degree celsius for 25 minutes or till it turns golden and crisp.
  10. Stir occasionally and fry till golden brown, keeping the flame on medium.
  11. Finally, serve potato smiles or potato smiley with tomato sauce or eggless mayonnaise and enjoy.

Potato Patties

An easy recipe to make at home.

Preparation

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup leftover mashed potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons chopped, fresh herbs
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the mashed potatoes and milk in a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Add the egg, salt, pepper, flour, and herbs (if using). Mix until the egg and flour are completely incorporated.
  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Form the mashed potato mixture into patties. Add the patties to the skillet in a single layer (in batches if necessary). Cook, turning once, until golden brown on each side.
  5. Serve the fried mashed potato patties hot with sour cream or ketchup, if desired.
