Add some more 2 v 2 maps? #10
Comments
Yeah I like those two as well but unfortunately I cant tell as I have almost no 4p experience :). I saw on forums today an attempt at starting 4p map design contest. Personally if it has any meaning I would go for adventurous and conservative similar way as for 1v1 but it may be better option to let jury (when it will be formed) decide what new sets should be. Well... IDK :). |

I added these 2v2 features around the time of TGT last year, it's somewhat "unofficial". The map pool we have right now is what Tekelili said when I asked him "what are the most important 2 v 2 maps right now" (TGT being implied context). Since I guess RBY is "owned" by the ladder? or tightly affiliated with the ladder? It might not have been proper for me to do this but I figured no one would particularly mind. All the same I guess it is a possibility to spin off "RBY 2v2" support as a separate add-on which cites RBY as a dependency. I think we should continue to add maps and such, there are players who use it. |
It's hard to say to whom it is affiliated. I would say to no one right now. TheBlackSword made some changes requested by Ladder Council but LC is dead for quite a long time now. I'm not sure if until LC is reformed there is a need to bother about approval. On the other hand it would be rather beneficial to have some other people involved so there is really no good answer here yet I guess. The ultimate goal of this add-on was to promote new maps and stuff but over time things got not the way they should so more and more sets were added for various reasons. This shifted objectives a bit but yeah I would add those two maps (rather than stick to status quo) as I really like new things :). The idea of making add-on modular is really appealing as well. It would allow to exist sets managed by Ladder admins, one with experimental map edits and another one with well balanced mainline maps simultaneously. Right now if there would be a need for 3 versions of Den of Onis 3 separate scenarios have to be added and for me it is rather too much duplication. The question is if there is a need for need for such many versions right now and to be honest I don't think so :). But eventually it may become desired so yeah starting with 2v2 is heading into good direction for sure :). |
I was thinking Underworld and Terra Dwelve, other candidates? Also, ideas about a second 2 v 2 map pool?
