Matchmaker is a recommendation tool that selects repositories for depositing data objects (called Research Objects) using information about the object, target repositories, and human contributors to the object's creation. This version of Matchmaker is currently in use in the project Sustainable Environments Actionable Data (SEAD) funded by NSF under grant #0940824 to the University of Michigan.
A newly improved version of Matchmaker, called "Data-MatchMaker", is at https://github.com/Data-to-Insight-Center/Data-MatchMaker. Data-MatchMaker is a more flexible and a general purpose matchmaker, and is powered by the state of the art IBM "Drools" rules engine.
- Checkout the SEAD-Monitoring tool from Github and build it using Maven

mvn clean install -DskipTests
- Checkout the Matchmaker repository from Github
git clone https://github.com/Data-to-Insight-Center/Matchmaker.git
- Move the to root directory and execute following command.
mvn clean install -DskipTests
This should build all module needed for the Matchmaker service.
- Copy the following .war files from relevant target directory into TOMCAT_HOME/webapps.
sead-mm.war
- Fix the endpoint URL in following configuration file under webapp.
sead-mm/WEB-INF/classes/org/sead/matchmaker/default.properties
- Start the server.
Now the API should be accessible through the following URL.
http://host:port/sead-mm/..
