The Sapphire version includes quality of life changes that helps me in my workflow, including:
- File explorer prompt on audio rendering before the actual export dialog.
- Applying effects that doesn't change the length no longer clears the envelope.
- Audio cursor line extends to multiple tracks below.
- Added clip options to manage envelope points (Clear, Clamp, etc).
- Added scrolling to the left of the zero.
- Non-modal dialogs for real-time compatible effects.
- Fixed VST/VST3 parameters being reset when audio is played.
- Removed advertisements to "Get more effects", etc.
Audacity uses Conan 2 to manage dependencies.
- python3 >= 3.8
- cmake >= 3.16
- A working C++ 17 compiler
- Graphviz (optional)
- NASM (optional)
Audacity only supports Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and 2022.

$ nmake
Audacity uses XCode versions 12 and later. However, it is likely possible to build it with XCode 7.
Audacity supports GCC 9 and later, but any C++17 compliant compiler should work.
