Project Title: PDF Summarizer and Quizzer

Description: A web application that allows users to upload a PDF file and receive a summary of the content, along with quizzes related to the topic. The application should be able to analyze the PDF file, extract relevant information, and generate a concise summary and quizzes.

Functionality:

  1. User Interface (UI): A user-friendly interface that allows users to upload a PDF file and view the summary and quizzes.
  2. PDF Analysis: A backend system that analyzes the uploaded PDF file, extracting relevant information such as keywords, phrases, and main ideas.
  3. Natural Language Processing (NLP): Utilize NLP techniques to process the extracted information and generate a concise summary of the PDF content.
  4. Quiz Generation: Create quizzes related to the topic of the PDF file, using the extracted information and NLP techniques.
  5. Database Management: Store the uploaded PDF files, summaries, and quizzes in a database for future reference and retrieval.
  6. Authentication and Authorization: Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to ensure only authorized users can access the system and their data.
  7. Deployment: Set up the application on a cloud platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

Technical Stack Requirements:

  1. Frontend Development: React or Angular would be suitable choices for creating the user interface. Both frameworks have robust libraries and tools for building dynamic, interactive UI components.
  2. Backend Development: Node.js and Express.js can be used for server-side development, providing a flexible and efficient framework for handling HTTP requests and responses, routing, and middleware functionality.
  3. PDF Analysis Library: Tesseract.js is a popular open-source library for PDF analysis, offering features like text extraction, layout analysis, and image recognition.
  4. Natural Language Processing (NLP) Library: Stanford CoreNLP is a Java library that provides various NLP tools, including tokenization, POS tagging, named entity recognition, and sentiment analysis. Its Python wrapper, spaCy, can also be used for NLP tasks.
  5. Database Management System: MongoDB is a NoSQL database well-suited for storing and managing large amounts of unstructured data, such as PDF files and their corresponding summaries and quizzes. It offers flexibility, scalability, and high performance.
  6. Authentication and Authorization: OAuth 2.0 is a widely adopted standard for authentication and authorization, allowing users to securely grant third-party applications access to their resources without sharing sensitive information. Passport.js is a strategic module for Node.js that simplifies the implementation of OAuth 2.0 protocols.
  7. Cloud Platform: Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) can be chosen for deployment, providing reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure for hosting the application. AWS Lambda functions or GCP Cloud Functions can be utilized for serverless computing, reducing maintenance and operational costs.

By leveraging these technologies, the proposed solution will provide a robust, scalable, and user-friendly platform for summarizing and quizzing PDF content.
