CSWT Announcement Video

First stable release. All boards tested and working, complete with builder for consoles.

Changes to Base Game

  • Easy mode maps removed. Easy Mode and Standard Mode menus (aka mapsets) replaced with 'Official Boards' and 'Custom Boards'.
  • 135 new maps, for 153 total.
  • Changed mapset 0 minigames to mapset 1 variants, as almost all maps on both mapsets are standard mode.
  • Increased the memory the AI has for lookahead calculation from 64kB to 128kB. This makes more complex boards more stable.
  • Tax Office price reduced from 10% to 5%.
  • Home price increased per level from 30 to 60.
  • Three Star Shop value change from 1000 to 500 and price changed from 200 to 100.
  • All boards unlocked by default.
  • All characters unlocked by default.

Installation

Place a Fortune Street iso/wbfs or Boom Street iso/wbfs into the same directory as the other files and run the build.bat/build_console.bat on Windows and build.sh/build_console.sh on MacOS.

Note: .nkit.isos are not supported. If needed, please use a tool to convert your .nkit.iso into a .iso

The difference between build and build_console is that build works only for Dolphin, while the build_console is meant to specifically be used on the console.

If you are on Windows, python will be installed during the build process. You may need to confirm some prompts.

If you are on MacOS, you need to install python yourself as prerequisite before running the build.sh/build_console.sh. You will also need to manually download CSMM here and place the csmm folder in with the rest of your files.

Troubleshooting

Building fails with the error message: Failed downloading csmm: init() got an unexpected keyword argument 'ignore_cleanup_errors'

You may already have an existing python installation. Make sure python is installed correctly and updated to at least 3.10. During installation make sure to check the checkbox "Add Python to PATH".

Building fails with the error message: 'winget' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Go to the Microsoft Store and install the package "App Installer"

Building fails with the error message: QTemporaryDir: Unable to remove "C:\Users\...." most likely due to the presence of read-only-files.

Start Internet Explorer. A dialog should pop up which says "Set up Internet Explorer". Use the recommended settings and click OK. Now you can close Internet Explorer and try again.

Building fails with the error message: <urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:997)>

Building succeeds but game crashes while playing

Try building again. We're still investigating the causes of these crashes, but trying a second time seems to fix some issues.

Known Issues

  • Tour mode does not really work with custom maps. Completed maps are not saved.
  • In Wiimmfi mode some boards may become locked and not selectable.
  • Metamorphosis has a game-breaking bug that got through our testing, please avoid playing it for now.
