I actually think that sometimes textual information isn't available to a screen reader and should be: rasterized text (like in <canvas>) as well as embedded text in an <svg> are both textual but inaccessible. The second half of the edit is solid though.

Bumping this: @gabalafou - did my comment make sense? Sometimes there is textual information in an interface (like in Bokeh's canvas rendering of text) that isn't accessible. So specifying "non-textual" here might create confusion. We want all meaningful text and non-text to be available to a screen reader. Perhaps we can just explicitly say that instead, "textual and non-textual"?
