For UT/IT:
In the current master/dev branch, when using the embedded memory buffer mode, there is no need to run make to compile Woodpecker.
All unit tests (UT) can be executed directly via go test.
For integration tests and benchmarks (IT), you only need to start external etcd / minio services beforehand, and then run them using go test as well.
Each test directory includes a README.md with more detailed instructions on how to run the tests.
In the feature service mode branch, under the quorum buffer mode, the testing workflow is the same as above.
Only the production deployment requires building and packaging Docker images.

For application integration with Woodpecker:
Embedded memory buffer mode:You use Woodpecker as a standard Go module — simply go get the module and depend on it in your application code. All interactions happen in-process via the module.

Service (quorum buffer) mode:You also use Woodpecker as a Go module in your application (go get it and depend on it), but in this mode you must first build and package Woodpecker as a Docker image and deploy the service. Your application then interacts with the deployed Woodpecker service through the client library provided by the same Go module.
