Zed doesn't work with students who get copilot for free. #8450
-
I get copilot for free because I'm a student, but when I try to link it to zed, zed tells me I need an active subscription to use it. Any help or fix would be appreciated. |

I use the student subscription and it works fine for me (Copilot Suggestions). Can you provide more info how you're trying to login? What error message do you get? Is there anything related to copilot in the logs? |

I had the same screen on my billing page and it works just fine for vscode. When I went to the "your copilot" page, it said I needed to configure some settings to activate it. I did that and now it works in zed. Not sure why it still worked in vscode, but it would've been nice if github told me I needed to do something during the linking process. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
