Repo transfer and cleanup

• Rename: likely to "numcodecs-registry" (Josh)
• Migrate gh-pages data to main (Shivank)
• Migrate gh-pages branch README items (Shivank)
• Delete gh-pages branch
• Generate files from JSON
• Store generated files on separate branch
• Archive research files to separate branch & tag
• Update README, describe GSOC & research branch
• finalize naming and start publishing the URL
• search for old repo links (see example)

Separately the sample code will be migrated to the numcodecs repo as methods in numcodecs.registry (or similar)

Ofc sorry. Had a tab with the old webpage from Shivank's repo, which didn't load any more. So was just trying to keep track of where to look now (at least until a final link is in place).
