Feature Request

We are upgrading procfs from 0.16.0 to 0.17.0 in #2948 . From the changelog, it has several interesting upgrades, specifically code to parse /dev/devices info. We should take a look if we can replace some of our hand-written code for using this.

If not possible, simply close this issue. This is more of a check-if-possible-or-not kind of thing.
