Bun package manager can be used independently from runtime

Bun's package manager is intended for use as a standalone tool, regardless of whether you're using the Bun runtime. It'll work in any project with a package.json, and it supports workspaces, git/http/tarball dependencies, custom registries, and more.

And it is also super-fast, so, why compare with pnpm but not bun?

I'm fine with adding them; would be nice if they could also upgrade their own benchmarks, though. Their marketing copy is comparing itself against Yarn v1 (which is now 7 years old), and with strange numbers that don't align with what we observe.

I’m not part of the Bun team; I just thought that if you’re emphasizing that you’re building a native tool for unmatched performance, it would be fair to compare it with other native tool.
I agree that Bun’s team’s marketing stance is aggressive and controversial in many respects, but the tool has gained popularity and recognition without a doubt.
