Bug Description

Image

This happens when I use Vulkan, it works fine with OpenGL (but see additional context as to why I need to run it on Vulkan)

This always happens before I actually got into the games.

Edit: I know the snapshot says "OpenGL" in the menu but the pop-up window immediately opened when I changed it to Vulkan and it went back to OpenGL, then freezes the xemu window. This also happens everytime.

Expected Behavior

It shouldn't crash (?)

xemu Version

v0.8.15

System Information

OS: Windows 11 64-bit
CPU: Intel i3 7020U @2.30 GHz
GPU: Intel HD 620
RAM: 4GB

Additional Context

xemu.log

here's the log (I don't know if it would help because I don't think the log documented the crashes, at least to my knowledge. But maybe it did! So here it is)

Please keep the "this system is too underpowered to run xemu" comment to a minimum :) I know that too well, I'll buy something better when I can, but for now, I'd like to enjoy anything I can possibly play even if I have to play it with extremely low FPS... the potato can run some ps2 games pretty decently, so I thought I should try my luck on Xbox too but I can't seem to get it running. OpenGL works fine but on potatoes like this, every FPS matters, especially those provided by choosing Vulkan over OpenGL :)

Please try clearing out your config file 'xemu.toml' and make sure your backend is set to OpenGL when Launching XEMU

Agreed, it should not crash. In this case, we need to improve initial buffer setup (e.g. trim allocations)

Same error with Raspberry pi 5

OS: Raspberry Pi OS
CPU: Raspberry Pi 5
