I’d like to reiterate that I feel they are on the slightly brighter side of headphones and may not be for those looking for a more laid-back tuning. Nowhere near as offensive as something like a DT990 or DT770, not as muted up top as the HD650, but somewhat similar to a less peaky TH-X00 in treble.
I’d still wager the HD650 is better at conveying the body, emotion, and “heart” of the music while the Audeze counterpart feels a bit thin & ‘lacking in soul’
Designed to be worn all day, Audeze has prioritised comfort for these headphones and boy do they deliver. The combination of lightness coupled with padding in all the right places with the perfect amount of give makes these extremely comfortable.
Certain genres like folk or ambient tend to benefit from this more relaxed sound profile, but harder-edged genres including rock and electronic can suffer from sounding a tad reserved.
Audeze LCD-1 Headphones
The LCD-1 headphones have been meticulously engineered for comfort, convenience, and premium quality sound.
Planar magnetic technology in an open-back, foldable/portable and light-weight design.
NOTICE. Decent entry-level desktop AMP will make them sound better.
Why is it awesome?
It's almost impossible(if any) to find combination of:
open + low-Impedance + comfortable + lightweight + quality build + good sound + portabe
Planar Magnetic, lightweight, Low impedance portable. All-day-use without fatigue or ear-pad-pressure. Comfortable.
