Citations in templates

Is it possible to have a template create a citation to the selected Item in the current Zotero citation or bibliography format?

You can use citations in the template, but it's not possible to customize the citation format in the note editor.

After exporting the note to docx, you can configure the citation style.

How do you use citations in the template? I think that’s all I need. I didn’t see anything about that in about-note-template.md.

I’m having trouble figuring out how to use this. Is there a more detailed guide, or is this a JavaScript thing?

It's a JavaScript thing. The template could be in HTML/Markdown with JS code wrapped in ${...} or ${{...}}$, see the doc.

I’m missing something. ${Zotero.QuickCopy.getContentFromItems([item],'bibliography=http://www.zotero.org/styles/apa');} results in SyntaxError: missing } in template string.

Thanks heaps, that’s been working great.

Now, is there an analogous way to get the citation, but from a specific style, like this does? I tried changing “bibliography” to “citation” with no luck.

Most of the available styles are here, ensure they are downloaded in the client and replace the URL accordingly
