See this screenshot of two instances of Screen side-by-side for the MP4/MOV(ProRes) rendering of the exact same video. Both instances are set to "Fit to Screen ⌘3". Notice how the right side of the video is cropped off for the MP4 version (left), and it also looks a tad bit zoomed in compared to the QT (right).
This happens regardless of the tab bar being open or closed. The zoomed-in MP4 display does not let me pan around, as though it was showing the entire video surface.
This particular video is vertical, if that makes any difference.
Screen 1.1.6 (build 2231) - oh, and I wish you made the version number copy friendly in the about dialog.

I can reproduce on Mojave (Retina) and High Sierra (non-Retina).
It happens regardless of the control bar being open or closed. The problem disappears when I turn off barcode visibility in the preferences, so you must be on to something.
