I have confirmed that this issue does not happen when ExplorerPatcher is not installed
I do not have "register as shell extension" enabled
I have tried my best to check existing issues
Repro ExplorerPatcher versions
ExplorerPatcher version: 22621.4317.67.1
Repro Windows Versions
Windows 11 (23H2) Build 22631.4602
3rd party tweak software installed
OpenShell version: 4.4.194
Describe the bug
Would be beneficial to have an option to exit or disable ExplorerPatcher and re-enable.
The reason for this ask is because of Media Player Classic (2.3.7, also on previous versions as well) crashing most of the times when playing a file over my mounted NAS drive with an error from ExplorerPatcher. Works perfectly fine when the same plays perfectly after un-installing ExplorerPatcher. Similar issue reported in mpv-player/mpv#15575. Also, #2390.
It's not just these media players crashing because of Explorer Patcher, but also other programs. For instance, look at the issue reported in #3043.
Most of the issues just get shot down getting linked to other issues without any resolution. If the issue is not going to be fixed, it would at least be good to temporarily disable or exit ExplorerPatcher.
Expected outcome
Option to exit or disable ExplorerPatcher
Actual outcome
Currently, there exists no option to exit or disable ExplorerPatcher
