Refine the trial experience

• Update the user experience by showing the status and provide actions in the }> dev mode menu
• Introduce a short-duration "instant trial" based on the machine id that increases the chances that anyone will have a good experience if they try out an example application that uses commercial features
• Allow production mode builds during the trial with a visible banner in the running application
