I just tried to search for a term that is only present in a custom field. When I use the workspace search top left (/) (which I expect to be used by most users), it does not show in the results list. The issue with this is, that regular users are not aware which field is custom and which is not and will assume that the term does not exist.
Workaround
If I don't want this, I can prefix all my custom fields and tell users those fields are not searchable, but it's a bit awkward.
Possible solutions
Option 1: Include custom fields in search
Option 2: Let admin configure which fields are searched
