Web Components and rem units

Hello, I'm trying to develop web components (custom tags) and I struggle with bootstrap css relying on parent root and html tags for setting app the font sizes vie rem units.

I've tried almost everything (special css for root with variables and special inlined css with styles just for the component) but still I'm not able to amend component font size without actually changing font size for all the parent / external website...

Is there any way how to force the generated css to ignore :root or override the base font-size to some non-rem value in the inline css?
