Use plugin with new placeholder overrides in sketch 3.7 #117
Comments
yep, I want it :) |
I really really need this :( |
I gave this a brief look to see if I could do it. It isn't so straight forward so didn't finish it. If someone else is looking at this, this forum thread is a good starting point: http://mail.sketchplugins.com/pipermail/dev_sketchplugins.com/2016-May/003796.html I might look at this again when I have time. |
A plugin called "Craft" can generate contents for overrides. You may want to look into that as well. |
@p-saovapakhiran yea that might work for some however it's inconvenient imo that invision doesn't offer those as individual plugins. I'm able to install normal sketch plugins in my work environment but not full apps like craft (and even using the full CraftInstaller had an issue that we weren't able to resolve on their help page). I could definitely see the complexity in implementing something like this (e.g. what if there are multiple overrides in the symbol, can you select the one you want to generate content for in each selected symbol?). I'll try to install craft at home and see how they've implemented it but either way I think it would be a great feature to have in a stand-alone sketch plugin like this one. |
Getting on towards the 2 year mark on this ticket and yet no movement at all. We're on version 48.2 and still cant use this plugin to use overrides on symbols. |
Would love to see this in Content Generator as I've found Craft Data symbol overrides don't work well with my symbols at all. I tend to lose the ability to edit things after Craft Data has populated them. Would much rather use this plugin. |
This might help (using craft plugin): Incase you further wish to change an individual symbol override after the above process (if you aren't happy with the override), there is a small work-around I used explained below: Select the Symbol > Override the desired value on the right panel (this will not change the value at this step) > change any other override from dropdown or something (this will change the new override from the previous step) and then change this step's override back. |
