A Humanoid Librarian is a humanoid records database. Use this metadata in conjunction with humanoid animations.
There is only one humanoid library: humanoids.json
. You can define it explicitly, or not.
from tdw.librarian import HumanoidLibrarian
# These constructors will load the same records database.
lib = HumanoidLibrarian()
lib = HumanoidLibrarian(library="humanoids.json")
A record of a humanoid asset bundle.
from tdw.librarian import HumanoidRecord
record = HumanoidRecord() # Creates a record with blank or default values.
from tdw.librarian import HumanoidRecord
record = HumanoidRecord(data=data) # Creates a record from JSON data.
Field | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
name |
str | The name of the humanoid. |
urls |
Dict[str, str] | A dictionary of URLs or local filepaths of asset bundles per platform. See: HumanoidRecord.get_url() |
collision_avoidance_distance |
float | A field used by Replicants for collision detection; the avoidance overlap is cast this far ahead or behind the Replicant. |
collision_avoidance_half_extents |
Dict[str, float] | Defines the size of the avoidance overlap used by Replicants for collision detection. |
collision_avoidance_y |
float | The y coordinate of the collision detection overlap shape. |
Returns the URL of the asset bundle for this platform. This is a wrapper for record.urls
.
lib = HumanoidLibrarian()
record = lib.records[0]
print(record.get_url())
Field | Type | Description |

print(filenames) # ['humanoids.json', 'smpl_humanoids.json', 'replicants.json']
Returns the filename of the default library (which is always the first element in the list returned by get_library_filenames()
.
default_library = HumanoidLibrarian.get_default_library()
print(default_library) # humanoid_librarian.json
Returns a record with the specified name. If that record can't be found, returns None.
